James Burchfield:  Plays Invisible Turntables

As I look at all the videos on TED, I see videos with very intelligent people who pretty much try and answer life’s questions.

The first thing I said after seeing this video is, how does a guy like this get invited to “speak” at TED?

But then I realized that not all videos on TED are just people talking about their lives and all these lessons that they’ve learned but they’re also people on there who are very good at what they do. And this guy is very good at playing the invisible turntables. It just goes to show that there are all sorts of weird and quirky talents that people make a real living off of.

James Burchfield started on the small stage, going to a few beat box competitions a year till he finally became prestigious enough to be invited to the one and only TED. He’s also performed in San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts Theatre. He is commonly known as AudioPoet and is considered one of the founding fathers of the trend of beat boxing, all starting out on the internet. Through hard work and effort an average guy who knew how to make sounds by spitting made has career.

From this video I learn that it doesn’t take a super genius to become successful in life. I will not lower my expectations or anything but there’s nothing wrong with doing what you love in life and making it all worth while. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Burchfield and can see him going very far with his skill that he has mastered. Actually I can’t see how far else he can go. In my book he’s made it to the top and his career can only go forward from here.

So now I see why he has gotten to speak at something as big as TED. He is a person with life’s answers. He is inspiring to other people and shows what a person can be if they really try. He shows how doing what you love even if all your using is your mouth can get you a long ways in life.
