Carolyn Porco:  Could a Saturn Moon Harbor Life?

Two years ago Carolyn Porco first gave a speech at TED stating, “We had discovered at Saturn; with the Cassini spacecraft, an anomalousy warm and geological active region at the southern tip of a small saturnine moon Enceladus”.

The Cassini image was taken in 2005. In 2008 the moon is now half in darkness because there southern hemisphere is experiencing august and eventually winter. Carolyn also reported that they found tiny water ice crystals, water vapor and simple organic compounds. From her research two years ago compared to her latest research she has found they are how finding things like propane, hydrogen cyanide, and formaldehyde. The tiny water crystals look like they one droplets of salty water this means the water has come in contact with rock, “And that is a circumstance that could supply the chemical energy and the chemical compounds needed to sustain life”

Carolyn is more confident than she was two years ago that there might be life on this moon. I believe it is definatly possible for there to be life on that moon. If they can find all the needs for there to be life.
