Jeff Skoll:  Makes Moves that Make Change

Jeff Skoll has a story that will change us all and our future.

He has, like many of us, a vision of world peace and prosperity and sustainability. He talks about the gap of opportunity which former president Bill Clinton says is “uneven”.

I partially disagree with that. Mainly because a part of me says that yes, other indigenous countries like Africa and Russia do not have the opportunity like many other countries do. In places like America the gap of opportunity is definitely even primarily because you have the right to education, which is free. It is up to the person themselves to make a decision of what life they choose.

Aside from that, Jeff got a little bit of a wake up call when he was younger when his dad told him that he had cancer and it wasn’t looking to good. This let Jeff think that time can be shortened in someone’s life spontaneously. So he went to school and studied and then opened up a few businesses. He decided to go back to school where him and his friend met. After school, they eventually left their full time job to create a company called Ebay.

This just blows my mind how the “have-nots” can eventually be overwhelmed with resources by hard work and patience.

If you put your mind to anything you can achieve anything. I thought Jeff Skoll did a really great job of conveying that message to his audience.
