I found Pete Alcorn’s talk very interesting.
It seems to me that in years to come, the population will only increase, but he thinks differently.
I don’t think that the decrease in population will result in a depression. But if that’s where it is headed, I would like to prevent it. Although I think if the world’s population decreases, that will be better for our economy. With the cost of houses and other things being so high, this would only make those prices drop. Houses would become more affordable for many people. Also, it would help people come out of debt and poverty.
Personally, I liked how he says “Fear for the future leads to some rash decisions. If we have a positive view about the future then we may be able to accelerate through that turn, instead of careening off a cliff.”
I agree with this statement. Even though we are looking way into the future, we should still be concerned with it.
Aren’t we suppose to avoid history by learning it?
So by trying to figure out where our world is going, we could eventually avoid a depression and other bad things that could occur. It’s important that we look at the possibilites of our future world. We could hopefully help our world to create a better future.
