Sasa Vucinic:  Invests in Free Press

Point of view changes everything.

Vucinic starts his presentation with a video clip given in three points of view. A man runs down the street and he looks like a thug. The second time looking at it, the man seems to run into another and seems to try to steal the second man’s briefcase. However, once you see the whole picture in the third viewing, the first man is diving into the second man to save him from a horde of falling objects. This represents the power of independent news media or press.

83% of earth’s population lives without the effects of free press. Imagine that: only 17% of humanity receives the benefits and consequences of free press.

Sasa Vucinic and his company want to change that. With the ending of the Cold War and the beginning of independence of all of the Soviet Union’s satellite nations, came reformed governments and screaming publics and countries wanting to modernize, wanting to be aware of the political, social, and economic situations and changes around them. He and his compatriots tried to create a news media company of their own. When they needed money to start out, they could not seem to find any loan companies in the world designed to help startup press organizations.

That’s why he has created his own company to give loans to such startup companies as he once wanted to be.
