Frank Gehry:  A Young Rebel

I first thought of Frank’s work as different. I thought he was just making his doodles into structures. I did not know he knew exactly what was going to come from his work.

I thought it was strange how he wanted to design a building in the shape of a fish. However in the end, it was a very unique looking building.

It was also good for advertising, because you would not have to look around to find it. It is so oddly shaped and unlike any other building, it sticks out. You could easily find it. However the really interesting facts about the building is how Frank Gehry got to the final product. It took him several sketches and models to get what he wanted.

He ended up cutting off the head and tail of the fish and this is what he used as the final model for his building. It was very interesting and was made to grab anyone’s attention. It definitely did it’s job. It was very popular and Gehry seemed to be very proud of it.
