Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala:  Aid Versus Trade

Ngozi is wanting to rebuild Africa; her talk is about “Africa the next chapter.”

She wants people to be able to build of buisnesses and such in Africa. The population in Africa ranges from age but 62% of the people are under 24.

Ngozi is an inspiration for Africa, she is really trying to help them grow and make their economy grow.

She was the finance minister of Nigeria in 2007 and may still be. She was the first women to hold both of these positions. She is a very big person in Africa and very well known. She said the U.S. could not have been built without Africa but I dont really see how that is true. Her father was in the African army, they lost a lot when he did this, one meal a day, her mother got ill and they thought she would die. Her sister got malaria at 3 years old when Ngozi was 15. She walked 10 km to get to a doctor, she jumped through a window to get to the doctor so she could try to save her sister. Her sister was saved and well by this doctor. She said her aid then was trying to save her sister and she ended up okay.

Ngozi is a great person from what I have seen, she cares about other people, helping people, and saving lives. I’m sure she has helped Africa in the past 3 years and has helped them grow.

If you get a chance watch this video, it shows how encouraging this women is and I hope people in other countries are just like her trying to help them grow.
