Roy Bremner:  One-Man World Summit

Roy expresses serious current events through comical strategies. His opinions are expressed strongly in a way that many people are not offended. While becoming one of the most well known comedians he shows what is wrong with the world.

Roy’s uses political satire in a way to describe political leaders around the world. While being a very well known comedian In the United Kingdom his views of the world are also widely publicized through out the world. His attacks on Gordon Brown, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and other world leaders are spread universally.

I believe Roy is so successful because he talks about crucial subjects that affect everyone. His popularity grows as he delivers more and more of his presentations. Out of all the comedians Roy presents himself very cleverly in a way that people are not usually offended by his comment. It is like when a friend makes fun of you in a joking matter so it’s not as offensive. This works because he is funny about things many people care about.

His presentation of the subjects is made in a way that people laugh at their problems instead of becoming mad. Other well known people use this same technique to obtain their audience’s attention. For example Shakespeare mocked the political issues of his time in his plays.

His examples of political issue presented in a way that are so different than others that make him stand out of all the other comedians. For example Roy mocks Iceland’s financial crisis but know one expresses their anger toward him because he states it in a joking matter.

We people can learn from the way Roy does his comedy. We can learn to be funny about critical situations and that people can be manipulated based off of how the person in control is behaving and acting.
