David Deutsch:  Our Place in the Cosmos

Throughout the years all civilizations have looked up and wondered, what is up there?

We all seem to desire a panned out view of our existence. Only now are we beginning to understanding that view. Only now are we beginning to realize just how insignificant we are. David Deutsch helps us understand how we are insignificant yet incredible all at the same time.

Looking back from afar we are not very prominent.

We are just a “chemical scum” on one of many planets in one of many solar systems in the galaxy. We aren’t near the center of the galaxy, we couldn’t survive there. All it would take to erase our existence is one supernova many light years away. Therefore we are typically insignificant. Yet we live in the perfect conditions for existence. We have everything we need to survive all in one place and almost nowhere else. We have minds that comprehend things millions of light years away. Therefore we are the one and only earth. We are a typical planet with a magnificent concoction of chemicals.

I recommend this video if you are interested in astrology. David Deutsch has some pretty awe-inspiring ideas. The universe is truly an awesome thing. David Deutsch helps us understand how we are insignificant yet incredible all at the same time.
